(1) The proposed name for the vessel must also be mentioned in the application for registration of a vessel.
(2) According to sub-rule (1), if the proposed name is similar to the name already given to another ship or if the Registrar determines that it is inappropriate to keep such a name from the point of view of national interest, he may propose another name instead of that name.
(3) If the proposed name is approved according to sub-rules (1) and (2), the vessel will be registered with the same name.
(4) A name given to a vessel under this rule shall not be given to another vessel even if the registration of that vessel is terminated for any reason whatsoever. However, if the registration of a ship has been canceled for any reason, this rule shall not be deemed to prevent the retention of the previous name when applying for re-registration of the same ship.
